Healthcare Design: Maple Health
Healthcare Design: Maple Health
Collaborative Project
Circulatory Systems are prominent within nature. They are seen within the human body, with the pulmonary and systemic circulatory systems, as well as in tree, using the phloem and xylem systems. The circulatory systems can be seen on the rings of a tree trunk after it’s been cut down. These systems, and the rings of the tree, served as inspiration for this concept. Both systems work to create and maintain life, and represent health.

Reflected Ceiling Plan (N.T.S.)
This project is an acute health centre within a hospital. Being a healthcare environment, there were many things to consider within this design. The lighting solutions and ceiling design needed to be carefully chosen to create a comfortable and relaxing environment, but also for it to be practical for the space.
The reflected ceiling plan shows the ceiling design, with the legend showing the types of lighting and ceiling material. Under the legend shows ceiling material and techniques, as well as a light specification within the space.

Way-finding
To ensure anyone using this space could get around, and find where they need to go easily, we carefully considered way-finding. Signage is colour-coded, easily read, and may have pictures and braille incorporated.
