Corporate Design: Central Peak Office

Central Peak is an advertising agency based in Calgary, Alberta.  This company is about embracing the outdoors, and having a work-play lifestyle.  Inspired by the city they are stationed in, and with the amazing nature surrounding them, the concept for their new office became "Urban Boreal," to embrace the city and nature around them, and incorporate a work-play environment.

Reflected Ceiling Plan (N.T.S.)

Wood paneling was incorporated into the ceiling, to reinforce the nature concept not only on the floor, but when a person looks up as well.  Suspended ceilings and cove lighting was included to add interesting lighting effects throughout the space.

Allsteel furniture and workstations were used throughout this office. Stride benching was used in the marketing area as it is an easy solution for easy collaborative work, but also offers the option of individual work when needed.

Renderings

Here is a rendering of the reception and waiting area in the Central Peak office.  The desk is custom made and wheelchair accessible at the end.  Behind the partial wall are chairs and small tables for waiting, from Allsteel.

This is the advertising work area, with work stations from Allsteel.  The table between the work stations are a great feature for collaboration and group work.  There is also lots of storage at each workstation to keep it neat and clean throughout the space with not much clutter.

This is the marketing area with the stride work benches.  To the right there is a small feature wall of some of the ongoing and past projects the firm has done.  There are large, wood, floor to ceiling panels that are a custom design throughout the marketing area to the advertising area.  They were inspired by the way sunlight shine through the trees, spilling through.  The idea with this feature was to use that inspiration as a way to separate each space, without completely closing it off.

I incorporated a living wall into the reception area.  Living walls are great for sustainability and also add a nice, fresh smell into the environment.  It brings the outside indoors.  There is also a feature wall for clients to see some of the company's work while waiting.

Finally, here is the small conference room.  The U-shaped table makes meetings easy to communicate with everyone, and the large window at the back allows lots of natural sunlight in.  The map of Calgary is a small feature that showcases the amazing city this office is stationed in
